Canada, the second largest country in the world and the location of PMR's headquarters, is known for its wealth in natural resources. During the 20th century, the growth of the manufacturing, mining, and service sectors transformed the country from a largely rural economy into a highly-industrialized urban society.
Canada is one of the few net exporters of energy among developed countries. Its large oil deposits make it the world's second largest reserve of that resource after Saudi Arabia. Many towns in northern Canada, where it is difficult to grow crops, are sustainable because of nearby mines or sources of timber. Canada also has sizeable automotive and aeronautic manufacturing industries.
With the growth of these industries, stricter global emissions regulation has led to a steady increase in demand for platinum group metals (PGMs) derived from catalytic converter recycling. As a result, PMR has used its own laboratory to develop a distinct expertise in several types of catalytic converters among precious metal refiners. In addition, PMR has been playing an important social role by helping its clients reach their sustainable development goals (please see Environment for further information).
PMR is a catalytic converter refiner that extracts precious metals such as platinum, palladium and rhodium to meet the new metal market's needs. We are a Canadian company located 15 minutes north of Montreal, Quebec.
